Perfect solution for changing diapers in the car! August 25, 2010 M. Sery (Brooklyn, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this primarily for changing my baby in the car! I have a Honda CRV and the seats aren't flat (nor should they be) which makes changing his diapers such a production! The back trunk surface is too hard and uncomfortable for him, so I just place him on this pad and changing him is a breeze! My son wiggles and rolls when I change him, so I love that it contours and buckles him in. It's very cushy and the surface is so easy to clean (with just a regular wet wipe). Great for our vacations and trips in the car!
very comfy for baby August 25, 2010 Gennie Miranda (San Diego, CA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this changing pad is a great size, and it fits perfectly on top of one of our chest of drawers - no need to buy an expensive free-standing changing station! it's very comfortable for baby, the contour and the belt keep baby snuggled safely, and the non-slip bottom keeps it from sliding too much.. highly recommended for any nursery!
Contains toxic vinyl which creates a toxic dust August 19, 2010 Jennifer Jaynes 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am really disgusted that I paid a premium to purchase the Organic version of this product only to discover the organic cotton was covering vinyl. These metals create a dust that can be inhaled or ingested if they have their mouths on them. PVC products contain and can leach toxic additives like phthalates, lead,
cadmium, organotins, and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are associated with
reproductive and developmental problems, central nervous system damage, liver damage and other
adverse health effects. During manufacturing and waste incineration PVC releases dioxins into the
air. Dioxins are linked with cancer, diabetes, endometriosis, birth defects, infertility, and immunesystem
depression. Organic...yeah right! Just another company misleading the public by selling something as safer and chemical free to just sell the same old toxic crap. Beware of Serta organic mattresses too. THe have organic pads covered with toxic flame retardant.
Bulky Pad with Oversized Vinyl Exterior July 17, 2010 Kat VZ (San Diego, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Oversized vinyl exterior, Cotton covers by the same company barely fit after washing and drying
I purchased this pad along with a Summer Infant cotton cover. I wasn't crazy about it being vinyl because I don't like the chemical smell it gives off or the lack of breathability, but because this was pretty inexpensive I gave it a try anyway. After washing the cover, I put it on the changing pad and it was a very tight fit, almost to the point of not fitting at all. Also, the vinyl exterior of the pad seems too loose and it wrinkles badly with a tighter-fitting cover, creating a bumpy place to lay the baby. I suppose if a person bought a really thick cover or one that didn't pull at the sides this wouldn't be much of a problem, but if you buy the cotton covers it doesn't really work well.
