The Chia Seed is an amazing food. For centuries many have used the seeds for a host of different reasons. Native Americans would take a pouch of seeds and a gourd of water on their trips. The seeds were their food source and taken with the water they would hydrate their bodies for endurance. When you hydrate the seeds in water the seeds shell opens up and absorbs up to nine times its volume in water. This then forms a gel, which is called Chia Seed Gel. The gel helps keep your body hydrated. The gel is also 90% soluble fiber, which is beneficial for your digestive track. People use the seeds when they are involved in sports or physical activities for endurance.

Raw Food World was the seller and the 5# package arrived in a box, double bagged with no problems. Included some free samples for other products they sell. I will definitely stick with these guys in the future.

well many people said that these chia seed bags arrived broken. i should have listened but thought i would take a chance. MISTAKE. the box arrived today and both 5# bags were broken. more than half of the seeds were in the bottom of the box. now we're talking food items here people!!!! i would expect the seeds to arrive in sanitary condition. i have not tried the seeds yet but i would never buy them again regardless. the packaging really needs to be examined and improved. i'm disappointed that Amazon would sell something so inferior.

It did take a little longer to actually recieve this product then other items that I have ordered. The packaging could be a little better, as there were some spills of seed in the box, maybe make it so that the bag doesn't get thrown all over the place in shipping, but other than that its a fantastic deal. I have paid $19.99 for only 1 lb at the health food store.

My package arrived with NO spillage. I ordered the 5 LB pkg of chia seeds from the company "Alive and Aware" on August 14th and received them August 19th. They arrived in a strong plastic bag inside the box. The bag was full but not overstuffed. Happy to say there were no stray seeds anywhere, no burst-open holes in the bag etc. They came in perfect condition.

We are very pleased with the product. During shipping, the bag developed a tear and about a cup of the product spilled into the outer box. This, I'm sure, occured during shipping.
